Explore the Best Bars on Lamai Beach

Although considerably more diminutive than Chaweng, Koh Samui nightlife at Lamai beach is nonetheless as lively and vibrant as its larger counterpart. Dotted with bars, music events places and discos, it is here at Lamai beach where you can watch mud wrestling--by females! Foam parties are another added attraction, aside from live music and a more extreme girlie concept along this area. Koh Samui nightlife is truly alive and kicking for those willing to savor it on Lamai beach.

Loud Music Ambience

What better way to experience authentic Koh Samui nightlife than with blaring music dished out by live bands or speakers? Bar Beers by McDonald’s, a cluster of beer bars near McDonald’s, is the place to be for great beer, ear-splitting music playing on the background while simultaneous pole dancing entertainment is provided by Holly-Wood, Sexy Lady and Why Not, to name a few. Fusion, located along the main street on Lamai, has two resident DJ’s who make the place popular among nightclub habitués because of their acid jazz and funky house renditions, in keeping with the club’s dancing-in-the-dark concept. Koh Samui nightlife is alive and heaving at Fusion. Super Sub Club lies nearby; with pulsating house and techno music designed to fire you awake. They have an outstanding collection of club drinks, an expansive externally located beer garden outfitted with a huge screen to keep drinkers amused and entertained. Shamrock Irish Pub is a live rock place six nights a week; this is a go-to place for Saturday live football viewing on TV. Darts and pool tables have been set-up here too, so you can guzzle your Irish beer while feasting on pub food. Smooth Pub, despite its deceptively cave-like layout, has live music and jamming sessions.

Koh Samui nightlife pounds loudly in these watering holes.

Relaxed Atmosphere Places

If you’re not quite up to loud Koh Samui nightlife, then try out the more restrained atmosphere at a number of places on Lamai beach. First up is Chill In, with customized seating arrangements to suit each and every guest—comfortable, native bamboo chairs, beach seating on the triangular Thai ‘mon’, and hammock swinging. They have a great selection of drinks here, which you can have while partaking of the reasonably priced and remarkable food offerings. Outback Bar, a wall-less outback saloon-inspired bar, serves both Australian and Thai beer, live sports on TV, and the most popular English breakfast this side of Thailand. It’s an ideal place to spend time at a leisurely pace. Red Fox Too is considered Lamai’s best bar, playing host on a weekly basis to the Hash House Harriers. Sunday roasts are an afternoon attraction, coupled with the fusion of Thai and British hospitality and warmth plus breezy fun.

Enjoy wholesome Koh Samui nightlife in these venues with easy ambience.

Thai Boxing

Thailand’s signature sport can be witnessed in two unique locations. There’s Muay Thai boxing at Lamai stadium, where authentic, unscripted fights are held at 8:30 pm on Monday nights. Male testosterone-driven action-filled fights, with occasional female boxing bouts, entertain guests. Lady Thai boxing bouts are the main draws on Main Street. A drink purchase from one of the go-go bars on the street affords you with free passage to witness this one-of-a-kind sporting event. Occasional lady boy bouts and male boxing are also held here.

These are unique ways to experience Koh Samui nightlife. After you have fully explored Koh Samui’a nightlife you can head back to the ShaSa Hotel and enjoy its many amenities and amazing rooms. Click here to learn more about Koh Samui's most luxurious resort.
